Indigenous Health

Indigenous health in the United States is characterized by significant disparities in health outcomes, which are rooted in a history of colonialism, racism, and discrimination. "The American Indian and Alaska Native people have long experienced lower health status when compared with other Americans. Lower life expectancy and the disproportionate disease burden exist perhaps because of inadequate education, disproportionate poverty, discrimination in the delivery of health services, and cultural differences."

This curated guide pulls together resources from Lane Medical Library, Stanford Libraries and other campus resources, in addition to government resources on Indigenous Health. For a comprehensive list of resources on Indigenous health, search Lane for "Indigenous Health".
