Every year, the Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) compiles a list of the Top 10 Most Challenged Books in order to inform the public about censorship in libraries and schools. In 2021, there were over 700 challenges to library materials and services and nearly 1,600 books targeted (American Library Association, Top 10 Most Challenged Books Lists). See the Top 10 Most Challenged Books list below and choose a book to sponsor today!

Come join Lane Medical Library and the Diversity Center of Representation and Empowerment, or D-CORE, as they celebrate the American Library Association's Banned Books Week 2022.
To sponsor a book for the event, complete the sponsorship form below. Books sponsored before September 9th will be inducted into D-CORE the collection and made available to be checked out at the Banned Books Event on Wednesday, September 21st.
There will be light refreshments served and a raffle to win the Top 10 Most Banned Books of 2021 purchased from Marcus Books in Oakland.

If a title you're looking for isn't listed, it's likely been selected by someone else. Books sponsored before September 9th will be inducted into D-CORE the collection and made available to be checked out at the Banned Books Event on Wednesday, September 21st.
